13 Big Changes in 2015 Advancement
The 2015 Guide to Advancement, your official source for administering advancement in all Boy Scouts of America programs, is now available. Here are the 13 biggest changes.
Troop News 4/19/15
This week we have an important information meeting for summer camp. All scouts, parents, and adults leaders going to summer camp should plan to attend. We will start this meeting right after opening ceremony.
Merit badge counselors - we will not have class this week due to the summer camp meeting.
If you are not attending summer camp, we have a special activity just for you.
We will also do the final planning for the kayak trip. Grubmasters should bring in their food. If you plan to go on the trip but cannot be at the meeting, please let me know. Cost of the trip is $45 per person. Please bring in cash or check payment, use PayPal at troop461.com, or use your scout account.
If you are not going on the kayak trip, the meeting will end around 8:00 pm.
Kayaking Trip 4/25-4/26
For those of you who are interested, here is a link to the place where we propose to rent kayaks April 25 and 26, as well as the kayaking trails in the area.
Merit Badge Dates
We scheduled the following dates for merit badge classes for the remainder of the term. "(full)" means you have most of the meeting; "(short)" means we have another important activity like outing prep, so you may get only 30 minutes or so.
- April 7 (full)
- April 21 (short)
- May 5 (full)
- May 12 (short)
Hopefully this will be enough time for you to wrap up all requirements.
Troop News 4/14/15
I hope everyone had a pleasant spring break. We will resume regular troop meetings tomorrow night. This is a merit badge class week, so please bring any materials you need for the class.
We will also inspect and test all troop stove kits.
Merit badge counselors: sorry for the short notice about resuming classes. If you have any problems making the meeting this week, please let me know ASAP.
We have several 2nd class Boards of Review coming up, so I will be looking for adult volunteers to help.
